• The genocide involved Turkey and Armenia.
• Armenia was the victim and Turkey attacked them.
• Turkey was ruled by Mehmet Talaat and the CUP or
  the Young Turks, Mehmet Talaat controlled both.
• It lasted from 1915-1918 and was renewed again in
  1922.

• The Armenians were attacked because of their
  liberal ideas which the Turks did not want in
  their country.
• As a solution they decided to take over half of
  the Middle East, destroying all who were not
  Turks in the process.

• Because it was WWI, the rest of the world was
  preoccupied (Completely absorbed by another
  thought or action) and did not notice the
  conflict until 1918.
• If WWI had not been happening, then the other
  countries of the world could have assisted the
  Armenians in their time of need.

• In all 1.5 million Armenians were killed either
  by being sent into the desert to starve or by
  being sent to death camps.
• After WWI, France, the US, Russia, and Britain
  forced the Ottoman Empire to surrender.
• Lots of support and money was raised around the
  world for the situation of the Armenians.
