Title: SHARE JESUS WITHOUT FEAR

1
SHARE JESUS WITHOUT FEAR
  • William Fay

2
  • YOU CANT FAIL!!!
  • You are NOT responsible for causing a persons
    heart to turn towards God.
  • It is God who draws a person to Himself.

3
  • God gives us God ordained opportunities to share
our faith and participate in the process.

4
  • Philemon verse 6 I pray that you may be active
in sharing your faith, so that you will have a
full understanding of every good thing we have in
    Christ.

5
Be Obedient!
  • Success in sharing your faith has nothing
whatsoever to do with bringing anyone to the
Lord. It has everything to do with obedience.

6
SHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
  • Did you know that as few as 5 to 10 percent of
the people in an average church have shared their
    faith in the past year?
  • That means 90 percent have chosen the sin of
    silence.
  • We should be excited about sharing our faith, yet
    most of us remain silent.

7
Signs Of A Dying Christian Life
  • Ask yourself, Am I sharing my faith?
  • Do I have only Christian friends?

8
Two Kinds Of People
  • Those who talk about the lost.
  • Those who talk to the lost.

9
Christians Who Offer Their Friends Only Spiritual
Tidbits
  • We Christians tell people we love the Lord.
  • We tell people we will pray for them.
  • We dont share enough information to allow the
Holy Spirit to effect a heart change.
  • We must realize if we dont explain our faith,
our friends may never understand it.

10
Give it To Them
  • Nonbelievers must hear the gospel an average of
7.6 times before they receive it. Remember if
someone walks away from you, the Word of God
    never returns void.
  • We must offer more than tidbits of our faith we
must prepare ourselves to share the entire gospel
    message.

11
Top 6 Fears That Keep People From Sharing Their
Faith
  • Im afraid of being rejected.
  • Im afraid of what my friends will think.
  • I dont think I can share with my coworkers.

12
  • I dont know enough.
  • Im afraid of losing my friends and relatives.
  • I dont know how.

13
Im Afraid Of Being Rejected
  • There is no stronger pain than the pain of
    rejection.
  • We need to get away from the win them
mentality. People do not put their faith in
Christ because we force them to believe.

14
  • When people reject your message, it is not you
they reject they are rejecting Jesus and Gods
    Word.
  • Therefore, you did not fail in your obedience.
  • God can use it.
  • What He cant use is your sin of silence.

15
Im afraid Of What My Friends Will Think
  • How many of your friends know you are a Christian
    but dont understand the gospel?
  • The reason many of your friends have not
received the gospel is because they are waiting
for you to explain it to them.

16
I Dont Think I Can Share With My Coworkers
  • God has put them in your path.

17
I Dont Know Enough
  • Usually this excuse comes from someone who has
been a Christian for ten years or more.
  • The problem is we have been sitting around
accumulating information for so long we are
    spiritually constipated.
  • We need to get rid of some of this information!

18
Im Afraid Of Losing My Friends and Relatives
  • Relatives are the most difficult.
  • Sin of silence.
  • Be obedient to the Lord!

19
I Dont Know How
  • You will find that sharing your faith is so
simple, your only frustration will be that you
will wish youd known how to sooner.

20
DROP THOSE EXCUSES!
  • You will experience a new depth in your
relationship with God that you have never
    experienced before.
  • Wait until you see what God can do with you as
you are obedient in sharing your faith.

21
The Share Jesus Questions
  • Conversational Joggers
  • Probing Questions
  • To determine if God is at work
  • Are their hearts open?
  • By the way, do you go to church anywhere?
  • Steer the conversation

22
Question 1
  • Do you have any kind of spiritual belief?
  • Perhaps you could say, Do you go to church
    anywhere?

23
Question 2
  • To you, who is Jesus Christ?
  • Or, What is your understanding of who Jesus
    Christ is?

24
Question 3
  • Do you think there is a Heaven and a hell?

25
Question 4
  • If you were to die, where would you go?
  • If Heaven is their answer, ask them why.

26
Question 5
  • If their answer to why is works oriented or
    unclear, move to question 5.
  • If what you are believing is not true, would you
    want to know?

27
How Did We Avoid An Argument?
  • It is because you are asking questions.
  • People have opinions on almost any subject.
  • They love to share their opinions.
  • You just listen to their answers.
  • Just keep the questioning friendly.

28
The Hmmmm Principle
  • While asking the questions, no matter what the
responder says, you should not answer.
  • Just listen and respond with hmmm.
  • It is nearly impossible to have an argument when
    you are just Hmmmming.

29
Do You Have Any Spiritual Beliefs?
  • Never ask, Do you believe in God?
  • People are happy to reply to a question about
spiritual beliefs because they love to give their
    opinions.
  • You are listening.

30
To You, Who Is Jesus Christ?
  • This question separates religious people from
    relational people.
  • What do religious people say?
  • Jesus is the son of God or a man who died on the
cross. Hes Gods only begotten Son.
  • These are correct theological statements but are
    very impersonal.

31
What Answer Are We Looking For?
  • He is my Lord and my Savior.
  • My demonstrates that they have a personal
    relationship with Christ.

32
Do You Believe In Heaven and hell?
  • If they respond, Absolutely not..
  • Follow up with another question, If you died,
    where would you go?
  • Why would God let you in?

33
If What You Are Believing Is Not True, Would You
Want To Know?
  • The fifth and final question helps you to get
    where you want to go.
  • This is the question that will give you
permission to open your Bible and share
    Scripture.
  • There are only two answers to this question yes
    or no.
  • If the answer is yes, you have permission to go
    to the next phase.

34
Motives For Evangelism
  • Love for God, love for people.
  • Pray daily for God to put opportunities in your
    path.
  • Never be discouraged if you dont have a
conversation that leads to the sinners prayer.
  • For, you cannot fail.
  • You were successful because you shared your
    faith.

35
The Power Of Scripture
  • Romans 1017Faith comes from hearing the
    message.
  • Luke 1026 A man was reading the Law. Jesus
simply asked the man, How do you read it?
  • In other words, What does this say to you?
  • That way Jesus discussed Scripture without
    starting an argument.

36
What Does This Say To You?
  • An important question you will ask as you share
    Scripture.
  • Just listen to your friends answer.

37
Pull Out Your Gun
  • Big Bopper vs the Derringer
  • Show the difference

38
May I Have Permission To Share Scripture That
Changed My Life?
  • Lets turn to Romans 323.
  • Allow the Bible to speak.
  • Turn the Bible towards your friend.
  • Ask your friend to read them out loud.
  • Highlight Scripture verses in your Bible.
  • Jot down the page number of the next Scripture
and the reference in the margin

39
  • Use a fresh Bible, one that has not been marked
    in.
  • Turn your Bible toward your friend and say, Read
    this aloud.
  • What does this say to you?
  • For all have sinned
  • Turn to the next Scripture which is Romans 623.

40
  • The Holy Spirit, not you, is in charge of all the
    convincing and the convictions.
  • You are only in the page turning business.
  • You have one goal stay out of Gods way.
  • Why have your friend read Scripture aloud?
  • Because faith comes from hearing.

41
  • While you are turning to Romans 623.
  • Point out that Gods standard for humanity is
    perfection.
  • This means all have sinned.
  • The Bible tells us that there is no one who does
good, not even one (Romans 312).
  • Have your friend read Romans 623 aloud.

42
Romans 623
  • What does this say to you?
  • For the wages of sin is death.
  • This verse is important because many lost people
hope their actions such as baptism or membership
in a church, will get them to Heaven.

43
  • This Scripture allows the Holy Spirit to show
there is no hope of Heaven without faith in Jesus
and surrendering to live for Him.
  • Ask, what does this say to you?
  • Do you notice the word sin? It is not sins.
  • One sin will send you to hell.

44
  • In the Bible, death often refers to hell.
  • Circle the word sin in your Bible.
  • Point to the word in or through in your Bible.
  • This word reminds us that becoming a Christian
means you have to be in a relationship with Jesus
    Christ, not in a religion.

45
John 33
  • Turn in your Bible to John 33.
  • Have him/her read it aloud.
  • Must be born again.
  • This time do not ask, What does it say to You?
  • Draw a small t cross near the John 33 verse in
    your Bible margin.
  • In your prepared Bible, point to the cross you
    have drawn.

46
  • Ask,why do you think Jesus came to die?
  • (you are looking for an answer like) He came to
    die for sin.
  • Turn to John 146
  • I am the way
  • Have your friend read this aloud.
  • What does this verse say to you?

47
  • (You are looking for an answer like) There is no
other way to be with God except through Jesus.
  • Turn to Romans 109-11.
  • Note John 146 is very clear. You never have to
explain it even if your friend believes there are
other ways to get to Heaven.

48
Romans 109-11
  • (Turn the Bible towards your friend) Read this
    aloud.
  • What does this say to you?
  • (You are looking for an answer like) I believe
God raised Jesus from the dead, I can be saved.

49
Dont Correct Your Friend
  • If your friend misunderstands the Scriptures,
    dont correct him.
  • Just say, Read it again!
  • Please just stay out of the way and allow the
Holy Spirit work through the power of the Word.

50
Objections to Romans 109-11
  • Will God forgive someone who murdered, lied, and
    stole, etc.?
  • Read it again!
  • Does this include you?
  • Turn to 2 Corinthians 515.
  • No longer live for themselves.
  • Read this aloud.
  • What does this say to you?

51
Revelation 320 Here I am standing at your
door..
  • (You are looking for an answer like) We should
    live for Christ.
  • Turn to Revelation 320.
  • The Holy Spirit changes the self-centered heart
    to a Christ-centered heart.
  • Have your friend read this aloud.
  • What does this say to you?

52
  • (You are looking for an answer like)If I ask
Jesus to come into my life, he will.
  • You want your friend to understand that opening
his heart to Jesus is his choice. Jesus is eager
to come into our lives, but he never forces open
    the door.

53
I Dont Understand
  • When someone says they dont understand the
Scriptures, simply have them read it again.
  • Its time to help your friend come to a decision
about what he will do with God.

54
Decision Time
  • It takes more than hearing the Gospel to become
born again. It comes down to making a choice
    about what they have heard.
  • Its time to ask five commitment questions.
  • They should be written on the inside leaf of your
    Bible.

55
5 Commitment Questions
  • Are you a sinner?
  • Do you want forgiveness of sins?
  • Do you believe Jesus died on the cross for you
    and rose again?
  • Are you willing to surrender your life to Jesus
    Christ?
  • Are you ready to invite Jesus into your life and
    into your heart?

56
Do You Want Forgiveness of Sins?
  • Romans 623 points out the wages of sin is death.
  • By now your friend should know he needs
    forgiveness.
  • It is his choice.
  • It is up to him to receive it or not.

57
Do You Believe Jesus Died On The Cross For You
And Rose
  • The cross is the central element in anyones
    decision.
  • As was read in Romans 109-11, it is with the
heart man believes and with the heart he is
justified and with the mouth man confesses.

58
Are You Willing To Surrender Your Life To Jesus
Christ?
  • Encourage your friend to count the cost of his
    commitment.
  • Luke 1427-28 And anyone who does not carry his
cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
  • Matthew 1916-26 (The rich young ruler)

59
Are You Ready To Invite Jesus Into Your Life?
  • John 112 Yet to all who received him, to those
who believed in His name, He gave the right to
    become children of God.

60
Be Quiet!!!!
  • After you ask the fifth question, quiet yourself.
  • The Holy Spirit is at work in this ones heart.
  • The angels are rooting for you.
  • The Word of God is applying pressure on this
    ones soul.

61
Ask the Fifth Question
  • Be silent and pray.
  • Wait for a response.
  • There are only two responses you can hear.
  • If yes, lead him to pray the sinners prayer.

62
The Sinners Prayer
  • Heavenly Father, I have sinned against you. I
want forgiveness for all my sins. I believe that
Jesus died on the cross for me and rose again.
Father, I give you my life to do with as you
wish. I want Jesus Christ to come into my life
and into my heart. This I ask in Jesus name.
    Amen.

63
The Why Principle
  • Whenever you receive a no to your question.
  • Ask, why.

64
Questions and Directions for a New Believer
  • How many sins has Christ paid for?
  • John 22 He is the atoning sacrifice for our
sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins
    of the whole world.
  • Christ died for ALL of us and for ALL of our sins.

65
How Many of Your Sins Does Christ Remember?
  • 2 Corinthians 517 says, Therefore, if anyone is
in Christ, he is a new creation the old has
    gone, the new has come!

66
Where does Christ Live?
  • Galatians 220- I have been crucified with Christ
and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.

67
Lets Pray
  • Who has been praying for you?
  • Lets call him now and tell him what you have
    done.

    else.
