• Imagine you are a news reporter who has watched
  the King be executed and now has to write a
  newspaper report about it.
• You must decide whether you are going to write
  from a Royalist or a Parliamentary point of view.
  In other words are you against the King being
  executed because you are a loyal supporter of
  his, or do you believe that the King deserved his
  fate for betraying his country and taking it into
  war?
• In your article you should describe what has
  happened...
• Why has the King been killed?
• He was found guilty of treason (Crimes against
  his Country - starting a war against his own
  people)
• Where did the execution take place?
• The King was executed on a scaffold outside
  Whitehall Palace
• What was the scene like?
• Thousands of people were there to watch. There
  were guards to make sure there was no trouble.
• What did people do when he was beheaded?
• Many people groaned and fainted. Others rushed to
  get souvenirs, like handkerchiefs dipped in his
  blood.

  much detail as possible including quotes,
