Technological studies in the school system take
place within two frameworks
  • The first is technological literacy for all,
aimed at students in Scuola media (Lower high
    school).

  • The second is Vocational and Technology
education at high school aimed at specializing
in technology related subjects and preparing
students for employment in various fields of
    technology and academic learning.

Graduated students
School of Specialization for Secondary Teaching
(SSIS)
Teachers
19
Teaching methods
The purpose of the SSIS is the selection, the
training and the qualification of the new
teachers of secondary school
  • This aim is reached through
  • a new definition of the teaching contents
focussing on the main point of each subjects
that is to say what is really important to learn
in order to get a sufficient outline of knowledge
and competences within the objectives of the
    chosen course.
  • a flexibility of teaching, organised in teaching
modules, characterised by clusters of topics
each of which is fundamental to the knowledge of
the main aspects of the studied subject.

20
Teaching methods
  • the research of educational answers to the
different local situations and to socio-cultural
problems arising from the different places of
origin of the students, also by means of
individual additional teaching during the four
hours of Knowledge Wideningof the weekly
    timetable.
  • the inclusion in the different subjects of
teaching modules concerning local cultural and
    economical aspects together with professional
topics linked to the course of study
  • a great number of hours dedicated to workshop
activities not only considered as simple manual
training but as an application of all the
acquired knowledge and as a moment of development
    of a particular vocational role.

Learning outcomes
Objectives
The training program let the students become
future teachers. The basic notions of Psychology
and Pedagogy give to the teachers the possibility
to create positive relations with their future
pupils in order to give to the pupils their
knowledge. The laboratory courses give to the
students the possibility to know the main
didactical tools for the teaching, specific
software (simulation, sound and signal
processing, ) which the teacher will stimulate
the future pupils' curiosity with
The course treat the actual problems of pedagogy
meant as a discipline historically dedicated to
the same theme, and the problems of sciences,
recently associated with pedagogy, orienting to
some formative models. The course includes a
general section, the preparation section, and an
approach to the current Italian pedagogy.
