Meal Offering
  • PURPOSE Dedication of a Mans Labor in
Acknowledgement of Yahweh (Psalm 4512, Malachi
111). The Hebrew word minchah is rendered
present (Gen. 3213, 2 Kings 88) as well as gift
    (2 Sam 82).
  • There is something very beautiful in this idea
of man making God a partaker of his plenty. Such
a gift offered in an enlightened spirit would be
a source of the highest pleasure it is possible
for a created being to enjoy.

There can be no doubt that the rule against
exogamy (marriage with the alien) effectively
promotes the individual's allegiance to the
faith, and that most Christadelphians are so
brought up that the rule operates without them
feeling very much constraint.  For those who make
outside affiliations, a real conflict of
allegiance develops.  (Bryan Wilson, Sects and
Society)

Are you searching for a partner for life,
looking for one whom God would approve-one who
would serve a nobler part than the mere providing
of a comfortable home or animal existence?  Then
turn your eyes in the way of those only who love
the Bible, and who show their love for it by a
regular and faithful readings of its
pages....Marriage with the alien is a sin, and
marriage with those who are unfaithful to Bible
teaching is akin to it. In the matter of
marriage, never be in a hurry.  Avoid being led
into an unwise arrangement by self-deception.  A
man or woman is not in the truth (whatever their
claims may be) who has no fondness for it, and
fondness shows itself by a desire to read and
talk about it.  Marriage is a very serious
matter-it means either a help or hindrance in the
fight for eternal life. (H.P. Mansfield,
Preparing for Marriage, page 102).

  • He needed redemption, he needed salvation from
death. The confusion arises when we isolate him
from his work. He was there to be our Saviour,
and but for our needs we may reverently say that
he would not have been there.. On the one hand
we must accept what is written concerning his
benefit from his own work, while on the other
hand we keep clearly in mind that the purpose of
it all was that we might be saved through him.
