  • Provide training and support to Medicaid clinics,
    local dental hygiene society, health department
    staff, and child care providers on infant oral
    health protocol
  • Free trainings using DVDs and PowerPoint to
    encourage offices to see young children and for
    child care facilities to incorporate daily
    brushing
  • Recruit dentists to participate in treating
    uninsured children and participate in Give Kids A
    Smile Day
  • Developed contracts where dentists agree to treat
    children at VERY reduced fees or no fees
  • Offer yearly volunteer appreciation/training
    evening to all volunteers
  • Recruit dental volunteers to present at dental
    parent center meetings and offer other ways they
    can volunteer for Head Start

    trainings to the community and also invited by
    other organizations throughout the state
