Document Review Key Questions
  • Does the institution exist?
  • What is the status of the institution?
  • Does it offer the program that is indicated on
    the document?
  • Did the candidate complete the prerequisites for
    admission into the program that led to the
    credential in question?
  • Is the educational history logical with respect
    to the country in question?

Receiving Documents Directly from Institutions
  • Documents must be sent directly to WES, or its
    partners (licensing bodies and academic
    institutions), by the institution for credentials
    from countries where this is common practice
  • At present this is required for 162 countries
    (from Anguilla to Zimbabwe)
  • Documents from countries where it is not common
    practice to send directly, are submitted for
    verification to the institution that issued them
  • Requests are sent via mail, fax and e-mail
  • E-Mail and Fax responses are accepted only in
    instances where it is known common practice
