• The LRC has over 60 databases, most of these are
  through NC Live, but the LRC has other databases
  we subscribe to separately.

Internet Access

• Governed by PCCs Computer And Network User
  Guidelines
• Users must have a current Student ID or library
  card
• Users must login on each computer using the last
  9 digits of the barcode on the back of the
  Student ID or library card
• 30 minute time limit during peak periods
• Users under the age of 16 must be accompanied by
  a parent/guardian and may not operate computers
  independently
• E-mail pertaining to class assignments are
  allowed
• Chat groups prohibited

• Abstract a short summary describing the main
  idea or content of a work such as an article,
  book or dissertation
• Article a brief composition on a subject,
  usually appearing in a magazine or journal
• Boolean operators used to construct more
  complex searches in a database (AND, OR and NOT)
• Call number a combination of letters and
  numbers that is given to each item held in the
  library
