Bobcats

• There is so much to learn about the bobcat. In
  this report you will discover what the bobcat
  looks like, where it lives, what it likes to eat,
  how it cares for its young, and some interesting
  facts.

• Would you believe that bobcats look like a large
  a house cat?

• Long hair around the bobcats head and neck form
  a collar, or ruff. A bobcats soft, padded
  paws help it to walk quietly.

A bobcats whiskers help it to feel its way as it
creeps toward its prey. Bobcats strong legs
help it to pounce on its prey.

• Sometimes bobcats kill larger prey such as
  porcupines and deer. Usually its hard for a
  bobcat to catch a deer because they run so fast.
  A bobcats body helps it to be a better hunter.

• The bobcat lives in parts of Canada, the United
  States and Mexico. Bobcats are also at home in
  woods, thickets, swamps, deserts, and mountains.

• Bobcats sometimes live near towns.

• Amazingly a bobcat mother usually has a litter
  of two or three kittens. Each kitten weighs
  less than a pound and is covered with
  short, spotted fur.

• With her mouth, the mother bobcat carries grass,
  moss, or leaves to the den. She uses these
  things to make a soft nest.

  new a den. Young bobcat kittens are playful.
