What is it about?

• This presentation is about Sikh symbols.
• There are many kinds of Sikh symbols, all of them
  mean different things. The most important one is
  the Khanda.
• Symbols can be objects too.
• Each symbol means different things to Sikhs.
• Symbols can even be drawn on your hands.

What is Khanda?

• The Khanda symbolizes the four pillars of Sikh
  beliefs, it symbolizes the weapons.
• The Khanda represents knowledge of divinity and
  the creative power of God.
• The khanda is given its name by the sword in the
  middle of the symbol.
• On either side is two crossed daggers called Piri
  and Miri

Ek Onkar
This symbol is in the Sikh religion and is found
in the Sikh temples.
Ek onkar means that God is one. Ek Onkar is the
beginning of the Sikh Mool ( this is the holy
book.)
Ek Onkar means "God is one," and relates to the
Sikh belief in the unity of God.

kirpan
The Kirpan is the ceremonial dagger carried by
Khalsa sikhs, as a reminder to fight for justice
and against oppression. Kirpans range in size
from large ceremonial swords, to tiny knives worn
around the neck. It is required that all Khalsa
Sikhs wear the kirpan. The kirpan is a religious
symbol, it is never used as a weapon.
