WE MUST REMEMBER

• Jesus was both human and divine.
• Just as divine as His Father.
• Just as human as His mother.
• Jesus knows how to weep with suffering humanity.

Hebrews 415

• For we do not have a High Priest who cannot
  sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all
  points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
• Went through what we go through.
• He understands.

MARY, MARTHA, LAZARUS

• Jesus loved them.
• Special family relationship.
• Often visited their home.
• Jesus wants to come in to our homes
• Cant be happy without Him.
• He will not force Himself on us.
• He stands at the door and knocks.

SICKNESS COMES

• We need Jesus when we are sick.
• We need Him when we are well too.
• The way to have Him with us when we are sick is
  to have Him with us when we are well.

• Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.

• Let us go to Judea again.
• Rabbi, lately the Jews sought to stone You, and
  are You going there again?

• Are there not twelve hours in the day?

  Jesus spoke of his death, but they thought that
  He was speaking about taking rest in sleep.

LAZARUS IS DEAD

• When Christians die they are asleep in Jesus
  resting in Jesus.

• But I do not want you to be ignorant,
  brethren, concerning those who have fallen
  asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no
  hope.
• The Atheist has no hope.
• The alien sinner has no hope.
• The erring child of God has no hope.

WHEN A CHRISTIAN DIES

• No reason to sorrow as others who have no hope.
• We sorrow at the loss.
• We sorrow that we wont see that person again.
• We rejoice at that persons reward.

MARY AND MARTHARECEIVE COMFORT

• The Jews come to comfort them.
• Brethren and friends are a great comfort.
• Real comfort comes from knowing our loved one
  died in the Lord.

• For as many of you as were baptized
  into Christ have put on Christ.

• Martha goes out to meet Him.
• Meeting bittersweet.
• Martha and Mary wanted Jesus to come before
  Lazarus died because they thought He would
  prevent his death.

GODS PLAN OF SALVATION

• Believe that Jesus is the Son of God (John 824)
• Repent of sin (Acts 238)
• Confess Christ before men (Romans 109-10)
• Be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 238)
• Live a faithful Christian life (Revelation 210)

• Repent of your sins and ask God to forgive you
  (Acts 822-24).
