• Wires are constructed by drawing metal
  through a hole in a draw plate. Wires come in
  three forms which are solid core, braided or
  stranded form protected by a plastic covering
  that are colour coded for easy identification.
  Mainly there are two types of wires Solid wire
  and Stranded wire. Solid wire consists of a solid
  piece of copper or aluminium covered in some
  insulation. This type of wire is cheap to
  construct and sell which makes it most used wire
  for wiring houses. The drawbacks of this wire are
  that it is stiff as it is just a large strand of
  metal and fragile as if you bend it enough it'll
  break. The second major type of wire is a
  stranded wire, it consists of stranded wires and
  small strands of metal. Stranded wire mainly
  considered when a conductor needs to be flexible.
  These wires can handle more bend as compared to
  solid wires as the strands are flexible. Stranded
  type of wire is majorly used in power cables and
  computers.

• The construction of a cable is done after
  keeping in mind all the dependency factors like
  working voltage of cable, the current carrying
  capacity of the cable, sunlight exposure,
  chemical exposure, thickness of insulation, the
  cross-sectional size of the conductor, etc. But
  they differ from each other as a wire is just a
  single conductor which means having multiple
  conductors but no insulation around them while a
  cable is a fabrication of many insulated wires
  wrapped together in a protective jacket.
