The Biggest Advantages of Fiber Internet
Connectivity

When it comes to technology, you cannot imagine
what the next big thing is going to be but one
thing for sure that there are still more thing to
come. And optical technology is one of those
revolutionary breakthroughs that have helped us a
lot, in our daily lives and major
fields. Internet is also one of the best
advantages we are availing now. The Internet has
opened so many doors of possibilities and
opportunities for us. Because of the internet, we
can shop, book any services, pay bills and earn
money from home. But to do all of that you will
need a good internet connection to browse easily
without any errors and thats where fiber optic
technology comes in handy. Because of optical
technology fiber optic connectivity can give us
the best connection of internet. Before fiber
cables though, there were copper wires that were
mainly used for such connection but they were not
productive or useful enough, so the need for
fiber optic connection was born. Heres why fiber
internet connectivity is so great Speed- Apart
from other reasons, speed is one of the best
reasons when it comes to fiber internet
connectivity. Copper wires were not able to give
that much speed to its customer and that was one
of the bad situations because some works need
high speed to get completed. Fiber internet can
do just that as the speed of the connection is
almost 1 Gpbs per second whether copper wires can
transmit data 100 per second. So, you can easily
see a huge difference here.

Bandwidth- The bandwidth is also a great factor
of internet connection, bandwidth is defined by
the maximum data that can be transferred through
the connection. A good bandwidth will help the
cables to send max data through the connection
without effective the high speed of transmitting.
The fiber cable is capable of producing 1000 MHz
over 100m. When it comes to copper, Cat 6A cable
is capable of carrying up to 600 MHz over 100m.
Copper was once limited to speeds of 10 megabits
per second which gave it a reputation for being
much slower than fiber cable, however, gigabit
ethernet is now reaching speeds of 1000Mbps and
theres the talk of Category 8 cable providing up
to 40Gb/s. Distant- Because of fiber optic
cables we can talk to our relatives and friends,
who live far away from us, which was impossible
for metal wires to do. Fiber optic cables can
carry signals much farther than the typical
328-foot limitation for copper cables. For
example, some 10 Gbps single-mode fiber cables
can carry signals almost 25 miles. Cost- When it
comes to cost-effectiveness, fiber optic cables
may vary from type to type. Some high-performance
fiber cables can come in the higher rate but when
you are working on a budget you can still find
the best quality cables to work with. Just
remember that one cable can give you much better
performance than a bunch of copper cables.

Performance- Performance-wise cable internet and
fiber optic cable is the same. But because the
cable internet connection is somewhat impacted by
electric connection and that is why in any
electrical disturbance your internet connection
can also face turbulence. So, if you are wiring
on an important project over the internet it may
serve you well if you get a backup option of the
internet. A fiber internet connection does not
let you suffer from such problems as electrical
problems dont affect the internet connection.
You will still be able to access the fiber optic
network because they are not made of metal but
glass. It is a more reliable choice between the
two connections. Fiber optic cables have made a
difference and it is still on the road of
development and that is why more or less fault
detection products are made of using this
technology. Fault detection is a term used in
network management, which has five steps process-
fault detection, fault location, restoration of
service, identification and problem resolution.
From all of these, fault detection is a very
vital part to detect, isolate and resolute
network problems. If a unit is at fault then many
units will also get faulty because of that one
unit and that is why it is important to have a
fiber optic fault detection equipment to detect
that fault before the damage gets bigger and also
to make the system work better.
