  • The Rockhopper hops

The Emperor Penguin Life Cycle
  • Mother penguins lay one or two eggs.

  • Father Emperor penguins take care of the egg,
    while the mother goes to the ocean
  • to find food.
  • The father carries the egg on his feet. He
    does not eat for several months while caring
  • for the egg.

  • When the chick hatches, its parents must feed it
    and keep it warm.
  • Parents go out to sea when the chick is old
  • enough.
