- The Eritrean-Ethiopian War lasted for 30 years
(1961-1991) - Mengitsu Mariam was a high ranked officer which

militaristic state. - Mengitsu government killed thousands of people in
attempt of genocide - The Oromos were taken over by the Derg and Amharas

- Mawi felt bullied in school because of where he
came from and because of how he was different
from other students.
