    offices. People are scrambling to get things down
    before the weekend. Others are ditching and
    leaving early or not working at all. However, you
    dont have to let it impact your productivity.
    Lets reclaim our Fridays.
  • Is Friday a productive day in your workplace?
    Friday seems to be the most dysfunctional day of
    the week. (After Monday, of course.) Many people
    write off their Fridays as a non-productive close
    to their week.But it doesnt have to be that
    way. In fact, Fridays can be one of the best days
    to actually get work done. Lets make our Fridays
    productive again.

  • 1. EmailGet out of your inbox and get
    productive. Stop waging the email war. Some
    companies have designated Friday email free and
    it has made a tremendous impact on their teams
    ability to get work done.
  • 2. MeetingsMeetings have taken up way too much
    of our work week already. Lets declare No
    Meeting Fridays and reclaim at least one day a
    week from scheduled meetings.
  • 3. NegativityIts the end of the week, and there
    is no time for being negative. Leave out the
    complaining, whining, and gossiping. Dont
    associate with those who do it. Youll be long
    gone for your weekend while theyre still telling
    stories.
  • 4. PhoneFriday is a great day to stay off the
    phone. Instead of talking on the phone, go see
    people in person. For those who are remote
    workers, this may not be possible. But you can
    try other more personal ways to communicate such
    as Facetime or Skype. The extra effort always
    pays off in the relationships built. You cant
    communicate at the same level when you cant see
    someone.

    great way to hone your soft skills and maintain

    people, dont try to control the conversation,

    they enter your home.
  • 6. Learn how to make fast healthy snacks for your
    visitors.
  • 7. The Elevator Rule. Let others out first. This

    respectful, and to the point. No one wants to
    read an essay in email format.
  • 9. Being discreet when giving tips to relevant
    service professionals. No one should see the
    money. This takes some finesse.
  • 10. Cell phone manners. No one wants to hear your
    conversation in public transport. Its supposed
    to be a private conversation, not a public
    broadcast.
  • Learning good social skills can make you more
    approachable, and people will see you in a
    better, more positive light. It will enhance your
    social aptitude and the more you practice it, the
    more you will improve in your sociability. It
    will help in your personal and work life.
