Title: Gas Condensate Well Testing

1
Gas Condensate Well Testing
1-phase pseudopressure (excludes condensate
blockage)
2-phase pseudopressure (includes condensate
blockage)
  1. Transient data during a pressure build-up can be
analyzed to try and understand gas condensate
well performance, by plotting the change in
pseudopressure and its derivative with respect
    to log(Dt) on a log-log plot.
  2. The build-up analysis is influenced by a
near-well condensate bank with reduced krg.
Using a single-phase gas pseudopressure to
interpret well test data usually requires a
radial-composite model with 2 zones. This will
give information on the gas permeability in the
bank and the size of the bank.
  3. Some wells may show 3-region composite radial
behavior, caused by increased gas mobility at
high capillary numbers near to the well. This is
    an area of current research.
  4. Using two-phase pseudopressure to interpret well
test data requires a set of relative permeability
    curves, krgf(krg/kro,Nc), and uses the
    steady-state flow theory (e.g. Fevang-Whitson
method) to calculate pseudopressure, resulting in
    normal semi-log radial behavior.
  5. Multi-rate tests can also be used to understand
condensate well performance, by history matching
single-well simulation models. This is usually
the most reliable way of confirming the benefit
    of capillary number effects.
