CCBOE Credit Recovery Student Orientation
  • This is your chance to
  • graduate ON TIME!

2
What is Credit Recovery?
  • This is an opportunity to recover 0.5 credit in a
core area course that you have previously failed.
  • Classes are entirely on-line through GaVirtual
    School credit Recovery.
  • There are no set due dates for individual
assignments. However, you will be expected to
follow CCBOE credit recovery guidelines regarding
when to start and complete your course.

What is expected of me?
  • Daily progress should be demonstrated and will be
monitored by the Graduation Coach. Parents may
    also monitor progress.
  • Keep a notebook or portfolio dedicated to your
    on-line class.
  • You may begin working on your course September
14, 2009. All course work, including the final
exam MUST be completed by December 2.
  • All pretests, posttests, and final exams must be
taken in the presence of a proctor. It is your
responsibility to see the graduation coach and
schedule a time to take any necessary tests.
Proctoring will be available MOST DAYS thirty
minutes before school, thirty minutes after
school, and during lunch periods. DO NOT ASSUME
THAT THE GRADUATION COACH WILL BE AVAILABLE. YOU
MUST SCHEDULE A TEST TIME BY E-MAIL OR BY
    PERSONAL CONTACT!

How does it work?www.gavirtualschool.org
  • You will take a pre-test for each unit. Your
score dictates how much work is required for each
unit. If you score an 85 or above, you may
proceed directly to the posttest. If you score
below an 85, you must do all assignments and
    quizzes.
  • You will post-test for each unit and must pass it
    before attempting the next unit.
  • Your final exam or EOCT will be 15 of your final
    grade.
  • Your final grade will be recorded as an
    additional grade on your transcript.
  • EOCTs will be scheduled at an alternate time
during a state-mandated testing window. These
dates and times are not negotiable!
