• To have meaning, the currency of education must
  be stable
• A report from the American Academy of Arts and
  Sciences indicates that grade inflation is a
  rampant and systematic problem across
  undergraduate education

A Beginning

• The Princeton model is a start
• There needs to be a process, however, to assure
  that it is not arbitrarily applied.

Review Process

• Before final grades are posted, instructors
  grades will be reviewed for gt35 As
• If gt35 As, instructor will need to meet with
  committee of department chair, Deans office
  representative, and random faculty member to
  justify this
• Committee may accept or reject
