Background (1981/82)
  • In 1981 4 major groups working within the Port of
    Hamburg (Forwarder, Liner Agent, Tally and Quay
    Operator) agreed upon the following
  • Efficient organization of transportion needs
    early information
  • information exchange using EDI
  • avoids double typing,
  • avoids errors due to double typing
  • saves time and
  • saves money
  • Flow of information within the Harbour was too
    slow and too expensive

    the usage of the EDI-Network of DAKOSY
  • Additional services of DAKOSY (EDI, ASP and IT-
    Services) are charged byDAKOSY directly
