3Hector Petersen This 13-year-old boy was being
carried from the scene where he was shot by
apartheid police forces. This crime was committed
on 16 June 1976 in Soweto. More than 1000 other
African children across SA were killed during the
1976 uprising.

taken from a jar in the North Dallas Womens
Clinic on 27 February 1993. The date on which the
crime of his murder was committed is not known.
More than 400 000 South African babies have been
killed in seven years of democracy. These crimes

truly concerned for the health and well-being of
women - RECOGNISE that the values of human dignity, the
achievement of equality, security of the
