Marist BasketballA Tradition of Excellence Over
the Last Six Years Marist Basketball has a
record of 124-52, averaging 20.7 wins
per season. Marist Basketball has won 3
Regional Championships. Marist
Basketball had four 20-win seasons in a row
(2003-2007), breaking a 44-year school
record. The average ACT score for the
Basketball Class of 2008 is 23.0.
The average GPA for the Basketball Class of
2008 is 4.18/5.0. Class and Character Tourna

A Letter from Coach Nolan
Welcome to Marist Big Red Basketball! This Fall,
Marist basketball will host its 2nd Annual 3 on 3
Grammar School Tournament. This tournament, which
drew over 150 participants last year, is open to
all 5th through 8th grade boys. As you prepare
for your upcoming season, we hope that you
consider

joining us for this exciting opportunity.
The 3 on 3 tournament will consist of two
divisions a 5th and 6th grade division and a
7th and 8th grade division. There will be a
champion crowned for each division. Each
tournament will run with a double elimination
format, guaranteeing all teams a minimum of two
games. Each participant in the tournament will
also receive two Marist t-shirts, which will be
used as uniform jerseys throughout the day.
This years tournament will be held Saturday,
November 14th, 2009 in the Marist main and new
gymnasiums. Each team should report to Marist
on November 14th by 230p.m., with the first
games for the tournament beginning at 300p.m.

you feel a certain atmosphere that is unique to
any other place in the nation. This is Marist
Basketballs atmosphere of excellence, teamwork,
dedication, and love for the gamethat is not
paralleled by any other school. Kyle Clifford,

of Business) at the University of Illinois.

  • The completed forms and total entry are asked
    to be
  • received by November 11, 2009. We will
    accept
  • walk-up registrations, however.
  • All games will be played on half court.
  • Games will be played to 15 points win by two
    with a
  • maximum time of 20 minutes.
  • Standard baskets are worth 1-point and baskets
    made
  • behind the 3-point line are worth 2 points.
  • Opening possession is determined by the top
    team of
  • the bracket shooting a free throw.
  • All dead ball situations and after made
    baskets, the
  • ball must be checked at the top of the key
    to begin
  • play.
  • There is no make it take it rule - possession
    changes
  • after each made basket.
  • Change of possession (rebound, turnover) must
    be
  • taken back beyond the 3-point line.

Marist Basketball has taught me many things
mainly the commitment and dedication to the team
as players, but most of all to the team as a
