To increase outreach and support to Orphans and
Other Vulnerable Children and Adolescents
affected by HIV/AIDS

Expanded Response to the HIV/AIDS Pandemic -
Target
In conjunction with other partners, to enable
local institutions to provide community support
to at least 25 of orphans and other vulnerable
children in high-prevalence countries by 2007.

UNGASS Declaration of Commitment
By 2003 develop and by 2005 implement national
policies and strategies to Build and strengthen
governmental, family, and community capacities to
provide a supportive environment for orphans and
girls and boys infected and affected by HIV/AIDS,
including providing appropriate counseling and
psychosocial support ensuring their enrollment
in school and access to shelter, good nutrition,
health, and social services on an equal basis
with other children....
