  occured the past.

Notice that tener is an e-ie stem-changer, but it
is not a boot verb, because the yo form is
irregular.

When tener is used to talk about obligations, it
must be followed by que and an infinitive (a verb
that has not been conjugated).

• Tengo que trabajar.
• Tienes que estudiar.
• Tiene que mirar las noticias.
• Tenemos que comer el almuerzo.
