becomes very evident they all function similarly
educationally the differences lie in the other
    features.

What is the eLearning Consoritum of Ontario?
  • Founded by Janet Millar-Grant of the York Region
    District School Board
  • The goal of bringing IT leaders in the area of
eLearning together to share and collaborate in
the development of eLearning knowledge, skills,
    philosophies, and strategies.

11
Why was it formed?
  • To avoid re-inventing and re-experiencing the
    challenges of eLearning.
  • To share common needs and develop strategies
collaboratively so multiple districts can benefit
    from a common direction.
  • To develop standards of practice for eLearning in
    Ontario

12
What has been accomplished?
  • A common understanding of the importance of
    dynamic content
  • A common understanding that development work
should be platform independent and conform to
    building standards
  • The eLearning Consortium was also successful in
acquiring two provincial innovation funds grants
to develop a total of 70 courses which can be
    delivered on-line through several different
engines these are now freely available

13
How do I get involved?

  • http//www.elearningconsoritum.ca

identify yourself or someone else as your
    district representative at our meetings.
