  crossroads and look ask for the ancient paths,
  ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and
  you will find rest for your souls.
• If we walk in the presence of God, find rest for
  our souls
• Theres more than rest
• Acts 228 You have made known to me the paths
  of life you will fill me with joy in your
  presence.
• Ps 8915-16 Blessed are those who have learned
  to walk in the light of your presence. They
  rejoice in your name.
• Theres joy in the light of His presence

God Is Light

• 1John 15
• God is light in him there is no darkness at
  all.
• His nature all light
• No darkness at all
• Extremely powerful light - not a candle
• In middle of night in the woods, darkness
  consumes light
• Ps 8411 says God is a sun and shield.
• Sun has consuming light and heat
• Remember Daniels 3 friends (Shadrach, Meshach,
  Abednego)?
• Light of God is so magnificent that it
• Expels darkness Burns up sin
• Thats why angels sing daily Holy, Holy, Holy!
  around his throne

What is Darkness?

• 1John 16
• If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk
  in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the
  truth.
• What is darkness?
• Wickedness, evil, sin
• 1Jn 16 defines darkness as no fellowship with
  God
• 1st time when Adam/Eve had no fellowship with God
• Place filled with hurt and shame / Anger blame
• Place where you just want to hide and not come
  out
• A place where we cant wait to see the light at
  the end of the tunnel
• Ex. College tunnel
• Situation so hopeless.. How can I ever get out of
  this
• A place where your loved one is missing (no
  fellowship)
• Piano teachers house
• Milk carton

If We Walk In the Light

• 1John 17 - But if we walk in the light, as he is
  in the light, we have fellowship with one
  another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son,
  purifies us from all sin.
• In darkness, we cant have true fellowship
• Theres too much hurt/pain/blame/anger
  (Adam/Eve)?
• But if we walk in light, we can have fellowship
• There joy, peace, and love for one another
• Dont have to blame anyone anymore
• How is this possible when we walk in the light?
• Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego
• Like heat - blood of Jesus cleanses us
• 2 Sam 2229 - God turns my darkness into light

Jesus is the Light

• John 317-21 (Paraphrased)?
• Jesus is the light that came to the world. To
  save and not to condemn. This light has come to
  the world. But men loved darkness instead of
  light because their deeds are evil. Everyone who
  is evil hates the light and do not want to come
  to the light for fear that their deeds will be
  exposed.
• Jesus was honest Men loved darkness
• We love our sins (picture a cake)?
• Addictions (drugs/alcohol/pornography)?
• Our lives ways can be pleasurable (live for
  selves)?
• Dont want to let go
• Pleasure of this world comes at a cost
• Enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy (Jn
  1010)?
• Broken relationships/lives.
• Are there love, joy, peace in darkness
  (addictions, etc.)?

Jesus is Light

• Heb 1125
• By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to
  be known as the son of Pharaohs daughter. He
  chose to be mistreated along with the people of
  God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for
  a short time.
• Its a choice
• Moses had that choice to enjoy the things of this
  world
• He had it all.. Think about it
• Some people think that being a Christian is
  boring.
• Some say that God does not want us to enjoy our
  lives
• But Ps 8411 says that God does not withhold any
  good things
• Problem is our definition of what is good
• A child and candy (What ever I want whenever I
  want)?
• Man and sex

Jesus is Light

• John 812 Jesus says
• I am the light of the world. Whoever follows
  me will never walk in darkness, but will have the
  light of life.
• John 1010
• Ive come that you may have life, abundantly
• Walking in the light of His presence overflows
  with joy (Ps 8915-16)?
• Ps 235 my cup overflows
• Ps 369 For with you is the fountain of life
  in your light we see light. (Moses on mountain
  top- contagious)?
• Thats why Jesus said in Mat 514 that we are the
  light of the world. A city on the hill can not
  be hidden.
• He wants us to live in the light pass it on
• Freedom, joy, abundance, peace, rest, love
