VDH CHAMPION Initiative

    strategic plan that addresses obesity in Virginia

    electronic resource guide including a directory
    on community and state prevention programs
  • VDH identifying already developed and evaluated
    programs
  • Advisory committee will advise on which programs
    to adopt and include in final plan
  • VDH will provide training, technical support and
    seed money to community groups implementing one
    of the programs in the plan
  • Data will be collected from all programs and made
    available to public
  • VDH will apply for appropriate state level grants
    and support communities in their applications
