Curriculum and Classes
  • HTLA curriculum is college-prep
  • All students who graduate must complete the A-G
    U. of CA requirements for admission
  • Requirements are more stringent than other high
    schools
  • Students should challenge themselves at each
    grade level (honors when available)
  • Students should be involved.

Extra Curricular Activities
  • Any activities outside of going to class and
    doing homework that are routine for example
  • sports, arts, religious commitments, language
    classes/ability, travel, summer programs, college
    courses while in high school, a job/s, clubs at
    school, student council, play an instrument,
    interesting skills, family responsibilities

  • PSAT 10th and 11th grades (Oct.)
  • SAT
  • Spring (May/June) of the Junior Year
  • HTLA offers a prep course (after school) in the
    spring to prepare 11th grade students for the May
    test.
  • OR
  • ACT (American College Testing)
  • Students can take these exams in their senior
    year as well.

  • PSAT fee waiver in 11th grade)
  • SAT, SAT Subject Tests and ACT fee waivers (2 for
    each test)
  • Application fee waivers (applications cost
    between 35-65 each campus)

  • Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009
  • FAFSA www.fafsa.ed.gov January March 2 of the
    Students SENIOR year.
  • CAL Grant filed here at the school. Students are
    given the form and need to return it to Ms.
    Martinez GPA verification.
  • Scholarships www.fastweb.com
  • AB540 Undocumented Students See Me for
    scholarship lists and resources.
  • Counseling/Financial Aid Packages arrive in the
    spring of senior year AFTER admissions decisions
    only.
