26In-Depth Study
Meditate on each item on the screen, until the
next item appears. Repetition helps memorization.
27Key Words Thanks Victory Steadfast Immovable Excel
ling Work of the Lord Not in Vain
28Thanks But thanks be to God Thanks is due to
the fact that the Christian has been delivered
from the sting and power of sin. This changes
ones approach to daily life. When one can
approach life on a daily basis with a thankful
heart everything changes. When one considers the
deliverance from sins sting and power it gives
an attitude that changes everything.
29Victory who gives us the victory through our
Lord Jesus Christ The Christian is fighting from
victory not for victory. The victory has already
been won. The death of Christ and His
resurrection won the victory over sin for all
Christians. Paul said the Christian is more than
a conqueror. You are a champion.
30Steadfast Therefore my dear brothers be
steadfast There are times when everyone is
tempted to do less than they are able to do for
Christ. The temptation is to measure ones self
by comparison to others. This is a dangerous
habit to form. The measure of ones steadfastness
to the cause of Christ should be based upon what
the Lord has done for them.
31Immovable Therefore my dear brothers be
steadfast, immovable The Christian is not to let
the world or others cause them to be easily moved
from a solid biblical foundation. One is to
establish their faith on the Bible and not the
philosophies of man. Paul asked the Galatians who
had deceived them to to another gospel which is
not the gospel.
32Excelling Always excelling This emphasizes that
one needs to give their best. Go the extra mile.
Endeavoring to find every opportunity to grow,
learn and expand their mental capacity in the
area of godliness.
33Work of the Lord in the Lords work The work
that one is to commit themselves it the work of
the Lord. It does not matter the location of
ones efforts. If at work, play, school,
exercise, parenting or whatever it is to be done
for the Lord. There is no secular aspect to the
Christians life. Everything is invaded by Christ
and the power of the Holy Spirit.
34Not in Vain Knowing that your labor in the Lord
is not in vain Though your work for God may
sometimes go unnoticed by this world and you may
not receive the applause of man, God will make
sure that it is not in vain empty. There is no
emptiness in anything one might do in work for
the Lord.
35Life Application
36Consider Perseverance
- Perseverance is an appropriate response to the
removal of sins power over us. - Is there any sin in your life which hinders your
work for the Lord? - Do you realize you have the ability to refuse to
allow sin to have influence over you? - Will you confess and repent of the know sin in
your life right now? - Remember you are fighting FROM victory not FOR
victory.
37Consider Perseverance
- Most of western society considers tolerance a
virtue. They say, We must tolerate each other.
However, God says be steadfast and immovable - Is there an area in your life which you know you
should have settled and you have not. - Do you give yourself options to do what you know
is wrong? - Would you confess and repent of the areas of your
life that are not steadfast and immovable?
38Consider Perseverance
- Many people live their life and never make an
eternal impact. They do not have anything that
will outlive them. - Will you commit today to do one thing for God
that is great? - Will you excel with excellence?
- Will you commit yourself to the work God wants
you to do? Right now?
39Gods Promise
- Your work will not be in vain.
- Your life will not be in vain.
- You will not only leave a legacy you will have
changed the future of the world.
40Prayer
Lord, thank you for your deliverance from the
sting and power of sin. I commit that I am going
to settle some things in my life and take away
the option to do wrong. Today, I commit that I am
going to do one thing great for you. I am going
to find the one main thing you created me to do
and never quit. I will persevere. I want to make
this world, my world, a better place. I do not
want my life or this day to be in vain. Thank you
Lord and I commit my love to you.
41- Perseverance Is a Worthy Endeavor
- It is worthy due to what God has done through
Jesus Christ in regard to sin. - It is worthy due to the need of our society to
have examples to live by. - It is worthy due to the ability it gives the
Christian to make an eternal investment.
