  • What is the SCAA?
  • Founded in 1982, SCAA is the largest coffee trade
    association with over 3,000 members.

  • Coffee is the second most traded commodity
    worldwide (oil is 1st).
  • Americans drink more than 300 million cups of
    coffee per day.
  • In 1683, one pound of coffee in New York was
    worth as much as four acres of land.
  • Coffee originated in Ethiopia - not Colombia or
    Brazil.
  • Coffee employs over 20 million people world
    wide.It take 52 beans to make a cup of coffee.
  • The avg. cost of a single cup of coffee is 24
    cents, making it cheaper than bottled water.
  • Research has suggested that coffee prevents the
    onset of Parkinsons disease, Alheimers, diabetes
    Type II, gallstones.
  • Coffee drinkers have lower risk of becoming
    alcoholics, suffering from depression, and
    suicide due to Chlorogenic Acid.
