HTML Basics
  • Open this W3 Schools page, which explains and
    shows all the basic HTML tags.
  • Walk-through the basics.

  • Next you will work with your partner to create a
    basic portfolio page. Write down the steps you
    take the names of the files you create.

Using Fetch to publish Web pages
  • Fetch is a FTP program--file transfer
    protocol--it sends your file to the emich server,
    the Internet host of your pages.
  • EMICH requires a secure FTP program know as SFTP.
    (other systems may not)

Steps to install portfolio page.
  • 1. First create an emich account.
  • http//people.emich.edu/
  • 2. Then write html code to create a basic
    portfolio page (name it index.html) Use Bbedit or
    hand-code using basic text editor.
  • 3. Use Fetch to publish it on the emich server.
