• HISTORY OF HANKOOK METAL

1966.11 HANKOOK METAL Ind. Co., Ltd. was founded
in Pusan, Korea. 1981.02 Completion of the
Yangsan Plant and the start of operation. 1988.08
HANKUM Co., Ltd. was established in Pohang,
Korea. 1990.06 Registered to Stock Market.
(_at_KOSPI) 1993.11 Achieved Presidential
Meritorious Exportation Award. (Export Vol. of
US10 million) 1996.11 Korea Productivity Center
approved ISO 9002(KQC-0153) quality certification
standard to all Steel Strapping products.
2003.05 Equipments at the Yangsan Plant were
relocated to the Pohang Plant excluding the
strapping Line. New Continuous Bright Annealing
Line and additional Hydrogen Annealing Furnace
were completely installed at the Pohang Plant.
2004.11 Achieved Presidential Award and Trophy
on Excellency in Exportation on 41st Annual Trade
Day. (Export Vol. of US 30 million) 2005.01
Korea Productivity Center approved ISO
90012000(KQC-3221) quality certification
standard to all Cold Rolled Steel Strip and
Steel Strapping. 2005.09 3Rd additional H2-BAF
(12 Bases, 6 Covers) was completely
installed. 2007.03 Achieved ISO/TS16949. Passe
d minimum AAR and ASTM requirements for Type I
Heavy Duty steel banding 1 ¼ in. x 0.031 in.
