BACKGROUND ON GREEK MYTHOLOGY
  • The stories of the Greek myths are all that are
    left of the ancient times. The gods and
    goddesses represent the metaphors of the ancient
    Greeks and the world around them.
  • I will introduce you to the Odyssey later on in
    the course.

    lazy.

Hercules is the roman name for the greatest hero
of greek mythology. He was the son of zeus.

THESEUS Became a hero by lifting a boulder.

ODYSSEUS Commander of Greek
soldiers. Hid his army in the Trojan horse.

  • Giants are siblings of the cyclopes. When greeks
    would fight giants, they would call on hercules
    to help.

  • Sweetly singing enchantresses, part woman, part
    bird, who lured sailors to their doom
