What is a gang?

• Gang members are effective groups leaders and
  workers working together on local strategy
• who benefit from looking at the area around them.
  Local issues such as local status of the area,
  strategic priorities, community diversity,
  community safety and the local economy are their
  strengths.
• leaders networking benefit from cross sector
  initiatives as different gangs in different parts
  of the country are now joining and learning to
  operate more effectively together.

Motivating the unmotivated

• Teach parents and schools as well as children
  about gang issues
• Help parents to motivate their children
• Raise a generation of young people who can
  communicate
• Involve young people who live and work in the
  area
• New ways of meeting and working with young people

Exit strategies

• Give then the exit strategy that is practical and
  acceptable to them.
• ensure personal satisfaction through innovative
  approaches that impact on the quality of their
  lives.
• Teach them effective leadership and put them in
  decision-making positions
• Together tackle live issues with the people who
  carry combined responsibilities that are the
  community (Politicians education police statutory
  agencies etc).
