Board of Elders

• The Board of Elders is authorized by General
  Conference to serve in a pastoral role and direct
  the spiritual life of the Fellowship. The Board
  consist of a Moderator, Vice Moderator, and one
  Elder from each Region. They serve a 6 year
  term.
• The primary responsibility of the Elders is to
  give pastoral leadership and care to enable the
  Fellowship in our spiritual journey. They
  exercise spiritual and pastoral authority to
  build a shared vision for UFMCC, prepare UFMCC
  for the future, and set UFMCCs strategic
  direction.

Board of Elders

• Elders are charged to carry out all directives of
  the General Conference.
• When church bodies or members of the Fellowship
  raise a question of interpretation of the Bylaws
  by official action, the Board of Elders is
  authorized to issue an advisory interpretation of
  the Bylaws for that situation.

Board of Administration

• The Board of Adminstration is that body
  authorzied by the General Conference to carry on
  the administrative affairs of the UFMCC between
  General Conferences in an orderly manner.
• The Board is composed of 7 persons appointed by
  the Board of Elders to be responsible for
  management of UFMCC finances and operations and
  to serve as the corporations Board of Directors,
  having charge of all matters pertaining to
  Articles of Incorporation, all documents of legal
  organization, property and finances of UFMCC.
  The serve a 2 year term of office.

Lay Ministry Council

• The Lay Ministry Council is authorized by the
  General Conference to foster excellence in lay
  ministry through collaboration in the assessment
  of needs and development of resources. The LMC
  is composed of 7 persons a Chair and Vice-Chair
  elected by the Lay House at General Conference (4
  year staggered term), 4 lay members appointed by
  the Board of Elders (2 year term) and a staff
  person responsible for resource development
  appointed by the Executive Director.
• Duties
• Assess the needs of the laity
• Collaborate with Elders and Staff to consider
  assessment results and recommend priorities for
  the development of resources.
• Work to inform, support and recognize the laity
  in accomplishing the ministry priorities of the
  UFMCC.

Moderators Nominating Committee

• The Board of Elders appoints 5 people to serve on
  this committee. It shall include a human
  resources expert, a psychologist/therapist, and
  an experienced pastor. The committee will
  solicit up to 5 candidates for each vacant
  position for Moderator and Vice Moderator.
• The Committee will review any and all candidates
  and present to each Regional Conference a list of
  qualified candidates for nomination.
• The Committee will then present to General
  Conference qualified nominees for the purpose of
  election by General Conference.
