CGBS-PTO ROCKET NEWS!
Jeans Corner Spring is in the air!!! Tulips
are finally popping through the melted snow
piles, birds are singing day and night and our
kids are outside jumping in the water puddles or
climbing trees-how great is that after this long
cold winter!!! With Spring comes new ideas and
future changes amongst our PTO. Our board is
ready for new members with fresh ideas to
continue supporting the needs for our childrens
enhanced education. Come to the May 5th meeting
or contact a current board member if you are
interested. Family Fun Night will change this
year, giving parents a break from running so many
games. We will bring in Radio Disney to DJ a
dance for our kids. An update from our
Casino/Auction Night results 5 Smartboards and
at least two digital video Cameras are being
purchased. Your attendance and support during
this event will be most appreciated by our
children in the upcoming school year. Read on to
find out more details regarding the upcoming
events.

TV FREE WEEK, APRIL 19 25 National TV-Turnoff
Week is the first nationwide effort which targets
the medium of television and asks that people
reassess the role TV plays in their daily lives
as entertainer, pacifier, babysitter, time filler
and background noise. TV Turnoff Network Please
help our children succeed in this challenge by
leading with example! Barb Frechette has
coordinated a fun week for the kids. A coupon
will go home that you, as a parent must sign and
the student returns daily. Students will be
rewarded with a visit from David Stokes-the
Reptile Man. Remember, the slips must be
returned after each day without TV or they will
not get credit. You CAN NOT send all the slips
in at the end of the week and expect a

FAMILY FUN NIGHT/RADIO DISNEY AM 1640 DINNER,
MUSIC, PRIZES Time for a change and give the
parents a break. This year our kids will be
entertained by a Disney DJ from the Radio Disney
Station/AM 1640. Every 15 minutes the DJ will
play a game with the kids for a Disney Prize.
Bring the camera for photo opportunities with
your favorite cardboard Disney Actor. DINNER

SPRING BOOK FAIR Thank you Nancy Niebauer and
Anne Kerwin for your time and energy once again
in coordinating a successful Book Fair. Students
were given a 3.00 coupon towards books and
teachers were given 30 towards new books.
Additional books were added to the ES and MS
library. The balance of profits will be added to
the PTO funds.
PTO BOARD MEMBERS WANTED A few positions are
open for the 2008-09 school year. Do you have
the ambition to help make a difference in your
childs school? Do you have some fresh ideas
worth sharing? Do you have a few extra hours you
could give to help coordinate some exciting
events? Then we need your help! Please come to
the May PTO meeting and help make a difference.
