  • Congratulations! Your group has just
    started your own travel agency business. Your
    first job is to arrange a tour for a group of 6th
    grade students who will be studying Ancient China
    but want to first visit the fascinating country
    of China. However, these students are
    investigating other travel agencies so your group
    needs to be very thorough when planning the
    groups tour. Your group will need to prepare
    these students so that they will know what to
    expect when they arrive in China, what historical
    sights to see when they get there, what the
    exciting history behind what they are seeing and
    what wonderful legacies China has given to the
    world. Its now time to get started!

  • You are to work in a group to create a travel
    brochure to convince the students to use your
    travel agency. You may create your brochure
    using a PowerPoint presentation, a paper travel
    brochure or a poster. (Remember that pictures
    will help attract tourists when you are trying to
    promote travel to China.) When you are finished
    your brochure should include
  •         A short introduction
  •         Facts about China
  •         A map of China
  •         Things to see - ancient sites
  •         A historical summary
  •         Things China has given to the world
  • A summary of why your travel agency should be
    chosen

    agency get this job. Do your research and save
    it to your P Drive or a disc. Decide what
    format your group will be using. If it is a

    China has a large variety of climates and
    terrains. Please describe the different physical
    features that can be found in China and explain
    how it affected life in ancient China.

  • Your role as Tour Guide is to plan
    what sites the students should visit. You want
    to persuade the group of students to use your
    travel agency to visit these sites so use vivid
    descriptions. As a Tour Guide, you will be
    conducting the tour and describing the locations
    with interesting information about the site. The
    places you will want the group to see are the
