  • Capability building of key people from the
    central and regional offices of DOH, provincial,
    municipal and city health offices
  • Orientation of local chief executives on pandemic
    influenza
  • Training of DOH-retained and selected local
    hospitals
  • Development and dissemination of information on
    avian influenza
  • Training of Barangay Health Emergency Response
    and Rapid Action Teams

  • Establishment of unified private sector network,
    primarily the civil society organization and the
    business sector
  • Assist Local Government Units (LGUs) in drafting
    their Preparedness and Response Plans
  • Conduct AIPP lectures and AI updates to
    requesting parties concerned groups
  • Assessment of prior surveillance work and
    institutionalization of surveillance activities

  • Approved proposal on risk communication strategy
    assessment of ASEAN member countries
  • Appoved proposal on the conduct of simulation
    exercise at the regional level (the Philippines,
    Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei)
  • Distribution of PPEs to the CHDs referral
    hospitals

    local communities through a collaborative effort
