A growing proportion of children in mainstream
schools in Australia have chronic health
conditions of physical disabilities. The
potential impacts of these conditions in learning
contexts have been documented but the role of
teachers teaching practices in supporting
learning and participation for children with
chronic conditions has not yet been
investigated. Insights from this pilot project
will be used to identify and clarify areas of
teacher concern with regard to their current
teaching practice in facilitating learning for
children with chronic conditions. Findings from
this inquiry will also be used to clarify issues
and focus areas for further investigation in a
more extensive mixed method research project.
Aim
This
project will investigate teachers perceptions of
the barriers and facilitators to learning for
children with chronic health conditions in the
primary school learning environment
