Introduction
  • Daniel Ken Inouye is a Democratic Senior Senator
    from Hawaii.
  • He is the first American Japanese descent to be
    elected to the U.S. Senate.
  • He volunteered to join the 442nd Regimental
    Combat Team.

  • Daniel Ken Inouye was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on
    September 7, 1924.
  • His mom and dad was Hyotaro and Kame Inouye.
  • He have a younger sister and two younger
    brothers.
  • He is the oldest child of four children.

Education
  • Daniel graduated form McKinley High School in
    1942.
  • He wanted to be a doctor and study medicine but
    he loss his right arm.
  • He start to study law and go to the George
    Washington University Law School in Washington,
    D.C.
  • Daniel have a B.A. degree in 1950 from the
    University of Hawaii.

  • Daniel dropped out college.
  • He go to World War 2 in Italy and lost his right
    arm.

  • Daniel is a member of The Committee on Rules and
    Administration.
  • In 2000, he was awarded the Grand Cordon of the
    Order of the Rising Sun by the Emperor of Japan.
  • On May 23, 2005, he was a member of a bipartisan
    group of fourteen moderate senators, known as the
    Gang of 14.
