INFORMATION
  • WE LOST 181,799.88 IN REVENUE IN 2003, DUE TO
SEVERAL FACTORS COUNTY, STATE AND FEDERAL
    CUTBACKS.
  • ALSO UNDER THE STATE BUDGET, THEY HAVE AFFECTED
OUR INCOME TAX BY ALLOWING CREDIT FOR ALL
CAFETERIA FUNDS. THIS MEANS THE VILLAGE WILL NOT
COLLECT TAX ON ANY WORKER THAT HAS A CAFETERIA
FUNDS. OR THE CITY TAX WILL NOT BE IMPOSED ON
THE GROSS WAGES ONLY THE WAGES AFTER THE
CAFETERIA FUND AMOUNT HAS BEEN DEDUCTED.
  • IN DECEMBER OF 2003 COUNCIL VOTED TO INCREASE THE
MINUMUM USEAGE COST OF A WATER BILL. THIS WILLNOT
AFFECT THE COST OF SEWER, BUT IT HAS BEEN 22
YEARS SINCE WE INCREASED THE COST OF THE WATER.

10
INFORMATION
  • COUNCIL HAS CUT THE BUDGET BACK IN ALL FUNDS BY
10, THEY HAVE FROZEN WAGES FOR THIS NEXT YEAR.
  • TWO EMPLOYEES HAVE BEEN LAID OFF, WITH ANOTHER
LEAVING FOR ANOTHER JOB ( AND THAT POSITION NOT
    BEING FILLED)
  • THE VILLAGE IS RESEARCHING WITH WAYS TO INCREASE
OUR REVENUES. WE NO LONGER GIVE CREDIT FOR THOSE
    WORKING IN ANOTHER CITY.

11
INCOME TAX INFORMATION
  • The Village DOES NOT receive the tax withheld
    from your employer outside the
  • Village.
  • There is no small towns that have a reciprocal
agreement, to be able to receive the tax
  • paid to another town.

12
INFORMATION ON TAX
  • IF YOU OR YOUR SPOUSE WORKS IN TOWN AND THE OTHER
OUT OF TOWN THE EMPLOYER IN TOWN MIGHT BE WILLING
TO TAKE EXTRA TAX OF THE IN TOWN WORKERS CHECK.
  • SOME CITIZENS THAT WORK OUT OF TOWN ALREADY PAY
TAX, AS THEY WORK IN A TOWN OR TOWNSHIP THAT DOES
NOT WITHHOLD TAXES. THEY PAY THE VILLAGE DIRECT.
