Where are they found?

• Pit vipers are mostly found in the Americas
• Most prefer a place where basking is relatively
  easily accessible
• Most are terrestrial and a few are tree-dwellers
  and semi-aquatic

• Pit vipers include rattlesnakes, eyelash vipers,
  bushmasters, fer-de-lances, copperheads, and
  water moccasins. (also known as cottonmouths)

• Their venom is a hemotoxin. It basically

  their prey.
