HOW TO CONTROL A HOT AIR BALLOON
  • 1. A valve makes the flame bigger or smaller,
making the balloon rise faster or slower.
  • 2. Modern hot air balloons have a second valve
that uses liquid propane instead of propane gas.
The liquid propane creates a weaker flame.
  • 3. When the valve opens, it lets out air, slowing
the balloon down.  If it lets enough air out, the
    balloon will go down.
