Psychotherapy
  • The psychological treatment of a wide range of
    mental and physical issues by a number of
    different methods. Treatment is carried out with
    individual patients or clients usually via a long
    series of intimate discussions over some years
  • Some psychologists train in Psychotherapy but it
    is not yet an accredited area
  • There are many theoretical frameworks for
    treating a wide range of mental/emotional and
    sometimes physical conditions e.g. Freudian,
    Gestalt, Jungian etc.
