  • Ways to get involved and feel a part of the
    Grizzly Family
  • Join a club. We have a Club Faire in October. You
    can go to our website to find out about some of
    the clubs.

    Back to School dance in September.

Fitness Gram Senate Bill 78
  • Students will be tested in 6 different areas of
    fitness at the end of their 9th grade year.
  • Students must pass 5 of the 6 areas in order to
    pass the Fitness Gram.
  • If students do not pass the test, they must take
    PE in their 10th grade year. Students will be
    retested at the end 10th grade.
  • If they do not pass the test, they must continue
    to take PE for the following year or students can
    opt out of the test at the age of 16.

  • Starting in the 10th grade you may earn up to 10
    credits for participating in an athletic
    activity.
  • The sport must be an on campus sport.
  • Cannot be used for Marching Band, Cheerleading,
    or Winter Guard.
  • Students must have passed the Physical Fitness
    testing in the 9th grade.
  • You cant be enrolled in PE, Study Hall or
    Teacher Aide.
  • You must maintain a 2.0 GPA during the season to
    stay in Independent PE.

MATH PLACEMENT
  • You will not put down a math class. Class
    placement will be determined by your current math
    teacher.
  • If you have a grade of C or below in Algebra 1,
    the CHS math department strongly recommends
    students repeat the class.
  • Students who received a grade of C or below in
    Algebra I and/or Transition tend to see their
    grades drop into the D and F range by the time
    they reach Algebra 2.
  • 92 of Algebra 2 students with grades D or below
    at first semester this year had one or more
    grades C or below in previous math courses.

WORLD LANGUAGE PLACEMENT
  • Cal High will be obtaining teacher
    recommendations for students currently enrolled
    in Spanish 1 or French 1 and planning to go to
    the next level. However, you should get the
    teacher to sign on the back page as well.
  • It is highly recommended that you repeat the
    course if you receive a grade or C or below in
    Spanish 1 or French 1.

  • The following classes require an audition or
    interview in order to be eligible for the class
  • Leadership (will be chosen in the fall)
  • All Vocal Music Classes (except Mixed Chorus)
  • All Music/Band classes (except Concert Band)
  • Representatives from Music and Choir will come to
    your school to talk about their programs.
  • Make sure you put these courses as alternates in
    case you dont meet the requirements.
