  • Lesions on Neck Chin
  • Several Annular Spreading Lesions on Trunk
  • Outer Edges of Lesions Raised / Center dry
    Scaly
  • Intensive Itching
  • Diameter of Lesions had Grown Spreading

  • Skin Scraping for KOH Examination Culture
  • Area Rubbed with Moistened Gauze Examined Under
    Microscope
  • Scrapings Were Inoculated Onto BAP, MSA, EMB,
    Fungal Media
  • Ordered UV Exam of Scalp Region
  • Fluorescence was present

Care Treatment
  • Primary Antimicrobial Agent of Choice is
    Terbinafine (Lamisil)
  • Alternate Choices are Itraconazole, Fluconazole,
    or Griseofulvin

How Spread Precautions
  • Through Contact With Animals
  • Poor Hygiene and Prolonged Wetness
  • Contagious / Contact With Infected People or
    Clothing
  • To Prevent From Spreading all clothing and
    household items should be cleaned and dried
    thoroughly before reuse
  • Always Wash Hands
  • No Contact With Other Children Until Lesions are
    Gone
