Laura Guttridge Protects Animals From Cruelty

• Laura Guttridge, an animal activist that laid the
  foundation of an animals right group in the
  early 90's called Marion County Voices For
  Animals located in Central Florida. It worked to
  defend animals from various injustices ranging
  from animal cruelty cases to protesting the use
  of animals killed for fur.

• Laura Guttridge was the president of Marion
  County Voices For Animals. MCVA helped convince
  The Marion County Animal Shelter to stop using
  the decompression chamber, and switch to the more
  humane lethal injection. She participated and
  organized many different protests for the welfare
  of animals.

• She will not hesitate to take a stand against the
  injustices towards animals. In 2002 she was a top
  signature gatherer, (gathering over 5,000
  signatures) for a ballot initiative that banned
  the cruel confinement of pigs on factory farms in
  Florida.Laura Guttridge engages herself in
  different campaigns for protecting animals.

• She participated in many anti-fur protest
  organized by San Diego Animal Advocates. She took
  part in various humanitarian activities in which
  she was honored the 2007 Humanitarian of the Year
  Award by The Indian River County, Humane Society
  of Vero Beach. Laura Guttridge follows a veg
  lifestyle and encourages people to adopt the
  same.

• She was an integral part of campaigns arranged
  for promoting PETAs Vegetarian Starter Kit. In
  March 2009, she took part in an event hosted by
  Bob Barker in Fort Lauderdale to support a veg
  lifestyle. She and another activist dressed as
  lettuce ladies in the 20th anniversary
  celebration of the Animal Rights Foundation.

• Laura being a former swimsuit model was a great
  candidate for wearing the strategically placed
  lettuce leaves. Laura Guttridge wrote a
  childrens book titled Gypsy the Christmas Cat.
  The book is based on a real life cat, teaches
  children the importance of showing care,
  affection and unconditional love to animals.

• Also, it introduces children to values like
  trust, compassion and patience. Apart from
  writing a childrens book, she is also the
  co/host for the TV show Dr. Josefina's Way.
