• Last year, the Mexico City Budget Proposal was
  presented by the City Mayor, Marcelo Ebrarad, to
  the Legislative Assembly as a Gender Responsive
  Budget.

• In order to reinforce the advocacy strategies

  for gender responsive budgeting.

  Equidad de Género Ciudadanía, Trabajo y Familia,
  began to carry out analysis and formulation of
  gender budgets.

• The Mexico City Womens Institute already had
  a network of gender agents in every Mexico City
  public institutions
• Equidad de Género trained them in gender
  responsive programs and budgets

• The Ministry of Finance create a position
  especially for the task. The aim was to provide
  consultation to all departments regarding their
  budget proposals.
• Equidad de Género worked very closely with the
  Ministry in the review of proposals and in the
  design of tools so that they could carry out this
  review
• Prepared a virtual course for further training on
  the topic

• The Ministry of Finance gave instructions for the
  preparation of budgets to include gender issues
• Equidad de Género worked together with the
  Ministry of Finance in the development of a new
  manual and formats for presenting the budgets and
  in the creation of a new program to monitor the
  budget

  proposal. The first chapter is about the
  importance of having a gender responsive budget
• Equidad de Género gave advice on the preparation
  of the document
