Sport Funding
  • High school athletics in the SRVUSD are
    SELF-FUNDED.
  • Our athletic teams do not receive funding for
  • coaching salaries
  • officials
  • equipment
  • transportation
  • other important needs of each team
  • Participation contributions are needed to fund
    these valuable sport programs.
  • If we do not secure funding we are at risk of not
    being able to provide our students with a
    valuable high school athletic opportunities.

Sport Contributions and PAL
  • An itemized budget per sport will be presented to
    parents at the beginning of the season parent
    meeting
  • PAL The Program At Large Contribution is a
    65.00 contribution that goes into our general
    Athletic Department budget
  • Examples of expenses include playoff expenses,
    league dues, secretarial support, first aid
    supplies, and necessity items to operate an
    athletic department with 25 different teams.

Tryout Policy and Procedure
  • Students submit required forms to our schools
    business office during the collection periods
  • FALL- Aug. 3-Aug. 14 WINTER- Oct. 26-Nov. 6
    SPRING Jan. 25- Feb. 5
  • Forms can be downloaded at www.srvhs.net
  • A physical examination is required by a medical
  • doctor and is good for one calendar year. Plan
    far in advance to set-up an appointment.
  • Tryout informational meetings are held prior to
    the season - this information is communicated in
    our
  • e-bulletin, and postings throughout the
    school.

Eligibility
  • Every student must have a 2.00 GPA
  • Every student must attend a min. of 4 class
    periods
  • each day to participate in practice and
    contests
  • Students must pass a minimum of 20 units
  • Before a student can participate in a sport,
  • he/she must have a receive athletic
    clearance
  • Academic Probation athletic waiver application

Conduct of Student Athletes
  • Athletic Participation is a Privilege
  • This privilege may be revoked for
  • Violating School Policies
  • Poor Attendance, Tardiness
  • Possession or Use of
  • Tobacco
  • Alcohol
  • Drugs
  • Steroids
  • Privilege Responsibility

Positive Role Modeling
  • There are 4 roles in a contest and we believe
    positive role modeling of appropriate behavior
    is
  • essential for our success in athletics.

  • It is imperative that parents respect the
    position of the coach and direct any concerns to
    the coach first.
