What is SharePoint?
  • SharePoint is a Windows server component that
    provides collaboration and intranet services
  • Connects people, teams, and knowledge across
    business processes.
  • It unifies disparate information, facilitates
    easy collaboration on documents, and projects.

  • SharePoint is comprised of two different
    technologies Windows SharePoint Services and
    SharePoint Portal Server

  • Enables organizations information to be
    organized and aggregated in one central,
    web-based application
  • It is perfect team working and collaboration tool
    that allows users to share information,
    collaborate on documents, and collate team
    knowledge over the Internet or corporate network

    same version of key documents by connecting
    remote co-workers through an intranet
    (SharePoint), which makes the data secure because
    its visible only to employees or other trusted
    parties
